Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 2 deaths, 227 new cases in 24hrs  

Bangladesh registered two Covid-19 related deaths and 227 new infections in the last 24 hours until Monday morning.  

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 27,980 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.34 per cent on Monday.   

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,76,011, said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing samples at 846 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,08,52,052 samples.  

Meanwhile, 280 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,40,597.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, Global covid cases reached  261,613,835 while registering 5,202,130 deaths.
