Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 2 deaths, 282 new cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh registered two Covid-19 related deaths and 282 new infections in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 27,981 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.50 per cent on Wednesday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,76,566 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 18,851 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,09,07,602 samples.

Meanwhile, 383 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,41,348.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, Global covid cases reached 262,901,023 while registering 5,218,199 deaths.
