Bangladesh on Sunday reported 228 new deaths and 11,291 cases in a 24-hour period.
With these latest figures, the total fatalities in the country now stand at 19,274 and the total cases at 11,64,635, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
The case positivity fell slightly to 30.04 per cent from Saturday's 32.55 per cent after testing 37,587 samples in 639 laboratories across the country.
In a 24-hour period, 10,584 patients recovered from the deadly infection with an overall recovery rate of 85.77 per cent.
The overall infection rate is gradually increasing and currently stands at 15.62 per cent.
Among the latest fatalities, Dhaka division saw the highest 69 deaths, followed by 50 in Khulna, 40 in Chattogram, 21 in Rajshahi, 16 in Rangpur, 15 in Mymensingh, 11 in Sylhet and 6 in Barishal.
Bangladesh is running a mass vaccination campaign. The country is procuring vaccines from various sources.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
