Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 3 deaths, 239 new cases in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered three Covid-19 related deaths and 239 new infections in the past 24 hours until Friday morning. 

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 27,973 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.41 per cent on Friday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,75,424 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 16,916 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,08,18,785 samples. 

Meanwhile, 277 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,39,830.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
