Bangladesh has suspended its visa-on-arrival services for foreign citizens for an indefinite period due to the situation caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
The home ministry's Security Services Division today (Tuesday) issued a notification that instructed the additional inspector general of police (Special Branch) not to issue on-arrival visas until further notice.
Earlier, suspension of the facility was extended in phases.
The notification said only foreign investors and business people having a proven track record can avail the service.
In such cases, the foreign nationals would have to submit a medical clearance certificate in English issued within 72 hours of a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test along with documents that prove that they are potential investors, to the immigration desk.
