The death toll from COVID-19 reached 10,081 in Bangladesh with 94 more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday.
Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the matter in a press release.
Besides, 4,192 people tested positive for the virus during the same period, taking the total number of infections to 707,362.
The number of recoveries now stands at 597,214 with 5,915 patients got cured in the last 24 hours, said the DGHS.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh registered 96 COVID-19 deaths, which is the highest ever single-day tally since the pandemic hit the country.
Bangladesh is currently observing a blanket lockdown that began on April 14 and will continue till April 21, as a part of the government initiatives to tackle a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
