The number of fatalities from Covid-19 has passed the 11,000-mark in Bangladesh after 101 people succumbed to the virus in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Sunday, said the Director General of Health Services in a press release.
The death toll from the virus now stands at 11,053 and the tally of caseloads 7,45,322.
The rate of infections increased slightly as 2,922 people tested positive for the virus in the 24 hours, higher than Saturday’s 2697.
The DGHS said the total number of recoveries now stands at 65,74,92 with 4,301 patients got cured from the disease during the same period.
Bangladesh is currently observing a nationwide lockdown to tackle a second wave of the pandemic.
