A 25-year-old woman died of Covid-19 at a city hospital two days after giving birth to a boy. The infant died the next day of birth.
Shefa Islam Tuli, the deceased mother, was a 5th-year student at Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College. She breathed her last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital in the capital’s Panthapath on Sunday (July 26) morning.
Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) Joint Secretary-General Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury confirmed the matter to the media.
The infant died on Saturday around 10 pm at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the same hospital, said a classmate of the deceased woman.
