From July 23, passengers flying abroad from Bangladesh will be required to obtain Covid-19 negative certificates from sixteen facilities across the country designated for testing samples.
Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism issued a press release in this regard on Saturday (July 18).
According to the press release, the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on July 12.
Moreover, passengers wishing to travel abroad are requested to comply with five guidelines prescribed by the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Travellers will have to provide samples 72 hours before their flights while the testing facilities will have to deliver the report 24 hours before flight departures.
Passengers must present air tickets and passports and pay the prescribed fee at the time of sample delivery.
Passengers will have to submit travelling details and documents with the civil surgeon’s office and provide samples at the booth set up there.
The passenger must be in isolation from the time the sample is delivered until the time of departure.
Passengers will have to pay a fee of Tk 3500 for tests for samples provided at the collection booths while Tk 4,500 will be charged if samples are collected from home.
The 16 facilities designated for testing samples are National Institute of Laboratory Medicine & Referral Centre; Dhaka, Institute of Public Health; Dhaka, National Institute of Preventive & Social Medicine; Dhaka, Bangladesh Institute of Tropical & Infectious Diseases; Chattogram, Narayanganj 300-bed Hospital; Narayanganj, Comilla Medical College and Hospital; Cumilla, Sher-E-Bangla Medical College and Hospital; Barisal, Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital; Mymensingh, Cox's Bazar Medical College (IEDCR Field Laboratory); Cox’s Bazar, MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital; Sylhet, Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital; Bogura, Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital; Rajshahi, M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital; Dinajpur, Rangpur Medical College and Hospital; Rangpur, Kustia Medical College and Hospital; Kustia and Khulna Medical College and Hospital; Khulna.
