A COVID-19 patient who fled from Dhaka after being tested positive was caught at Bishambharpur upazila in Sunamganj yesterday.
He was caught from the Purangaon village of the upazila. Later the patient was sent to a isolation centre of corona unit at the Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.
The man reached Sunamganj on Monday. On the next day, the upazila health authorities sent him to home quarantine for 14 days without knowing that he was already tested positive in Dhaka.
On Wednesday, IEDCR gave the name and address of the patient to the civil surgeon of Sunamganj mentioning the test results. Later the civil surgeon passed the news on to Dr Chowdhury Jalal Uddin Murshed, the health and family planning officer of the Upazila. Later the patient was taken to the hospital from his home.
