The government has so far provided relief help to about seven crore people to lessen their sufferings during the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the disaster management and relief ministry, it has distributed rice, cash money and baby food as relief help among 6,79,91,915 distressed people, said a press release issued by the ministry on Thursday.
In the rice category, out of the allocated 92,480 tonnes, the ministry has so far distributed 71,098 tonnes of GR rice among 60,90,090 families across the country, reaching out to 2,76,96,654 beneficiaries.
Out of the total cash allocation of Tk 39,70,54,164, the ministry has so far provided Tk 31,24,04,882 to 34,86,809 families, benefitting 1,46,95,140 people in all districts.
Out of the allocated Tk 7,82,00000 for baby food, the ministry so far distributed Tk5,31,52,465 to 1,39,00,723 families where 2,56,00,119 people were benefited from this help.
The ministry also formed a committee to distribute relief among the needy people till June this year, the release added.
