Nine people including the Keraniganj upazila Nirbahi Officer have been infected with the coronavirus, raising the number of confirmed cases to 884 in the Keraniganj upazila.
According to the Coronavirus Control Room, UNO Amit Debnath and eight more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the upazila.
Three executive magistrates, one project officer, 14 physicians, 17 nurses, 18 health workers, 46 Rab members and 45 policemen are among those infected with the virus here.
Amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the upazila, the local administration has marked seven unions including Jinjira, Kalindi unions as ‘red zone’ while three unions as ‘Yellow zone and two unions as a green zone.
So far, 345 people have recovered from the virus while 21 Covid-19 patients have died in the upazila.
