Health Secretary Abdul Mannan has said that Covid-19 vaccine is likely to be available in Bangladesh within February next year.
He said, ”The government is in negotiation with multiple countries around the world regarding Covid-19 vaccine. We are hopeful to receive vaccine within February.”
“It is important for people to abide by the health guidelines until a vaccine arrives,” he added.
The Health Secretary also said that frontline fighter, media personnel and the elderly would get priority in getting the vaccine.
He said this while attending a function on World AIDS Day.
In the function, Mannan shed light to all the initiatives the government took in purchasing a Covid-19 vaccine.
He also reassured that the government would take the responsibility of the families of the doctors, who died during the pandemic,
