Covid daily infection rate drops to 3.52%

Bangladesh on Thursday recorded 170 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the daily infection rate slightly falls to 3.52 per cent.

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 4,824 samples at 880 laboratories across the country.

The country recorded also recorded one Covid-related death in the 24-hour time span, pushing the tally to 29,315.

On Wednesday, the test positivity rate was 4.54 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the total caseload reached 20,09,604, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, 334 patients recovered from the infection over the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recovery to 19,52,838.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
