The Covid-19 fatalities rose to 13,032 in Bangladesh with 43 patients succumbed to the virus in the 24 hours till 8:00am on Friday, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.

Of the 43 victims, 30 were male and 13 were female.

Besides, 2,454 people came out positive after 18,535 tests were carried out for the virus during the same period, taking the caseloads to 8,22,849.

For the 24 hours ending at 8:00am, the rate of positivity stood at 13.24 per cent while the mortality rate was 1.58 per cent, said the directorate.

Bangladesh is currently under a nationwide lockdown which is scheduled to continue until June 16 to curb risks of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
