Forty people died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday taking the toll to 12,441, according to a release issued by the Director General of Health Services.
Besides, 1,675 people tested positive for the virus during the same period pushing the caseloads to 7,92,196.
A total of 1,279 patients recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. So far, 732,810 people recovered from coronavirus in Bangladesh, said the release.
The infection rate of the virus went up to 10.08 per cent in the last 24 hours.
Of the deceased, 26 were male and 14 were female and Chattogram registered highest 18 deaths since Monday.
