32 patients died of Covid-19 in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Monday taking the toll of fatalities to 12,181, said the Directorate General of Health Services in a press release.
Besides, 698 people tested positive for the virus during the same period pushing the caseloads to 7,80,857.
The toll of recoveries rose to 722,036 with 601 patients got cured of the disease in the 24 hours taking the rate of recoveries at 92.55 per cent, said the directorate.
The rate of positivity now stands at 13.66 per cent while the mortality rate 1.56 per cent.
The ongoing lockdown till 16 May has been extended to 23 May to tackle the second wave of Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.
