Bangladesh recorded the Covid-19 positivity rate at 14.12 per cent in a span of 24 hours ending at 8:00am on Saturday, which is the highest single-day rate of infections in 50 days since April 3 this year when 14 per cent positivity rate was reported.
According to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services, 39 patients died from the virus and 1,637 people came out positive after 11,590 tests were carried out during the same period.
With the new deaths, the Covid-19 fatalities rose to 13,071 with 8,24,486 caseloads, said the DGHS.
On Friday, the rate of positivity was 13.24 per cent while the mortality rate was 1.58 per cent.
The government imposed a nationwide lockdown on April 5 this year which was later extended in several phases until June 16 to curb risks of Covid-19 spread further.
