The Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) Epidemiology and Public Health Committee has recommended imposing lockdown in seven districts bordering upon India due to a rise in coronavirus cases.
The seven districts are — Naogaon, Natore, Satkhira, Jashore, Rajshahi, Kushtia and Khulna.
The committee has also expressed concerns over the spread of Covid-19 in Noakhali and Cox's Bazar.
The committee would submit its recommendation to the health minister on Sunday and a decision was likely to be made in this regard later in the day in the Cabinet meeting, committee sources said.
