Eighteen more Covid patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital till Thursday morning, the highest single-day death toll at the hospital so far, according to the district's health officials.
"Of the deceased, eight were Covid-19 positive while ten died with Covid-like-symptoms, said Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).
Thirteen of them were from Rajshahi, one from Chapainawabganj, and the remaining four were from Naogaon.
With 54 new cases, a total of 404 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital.
On Wednesday, 188 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 466 in the PCR lab. Of these, 58 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 130 in the PCR Lab.
As per the test ratio of the samples, the overall infection rate was 33.94 per cent.
So far, 306 people died at RMCH till Thursday.
