State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mohammad Mahbub Ali said the tourist town of Cox's Bazar is being connected to different parts of the country by air.
The state minister was speaking at a press conference in Cox’s Bazar after the launching of a direct flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Saidpur-Cox's Bazar-Saidpur route on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the minister presided over the inaugural event of the flight at Saidpur Airport.
As part of the plan to connect Cox’s Bazar, direct flights have already been launched on the Sylhet-Cox's Bazar recently and Saidpur-Cox's Bazar route on Thursday, the minister said.
The minister added that the launching of direct flights on Saidpur-Cox's Bazar-Syedpur route enables tourists from the northern part of the country to come directly to Cox's Bazar and vise-versa.
Passengers will receive this service by travelling in the modern fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, he further said.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate direct flights from Syedpur to Cox's Bazar every Thursday at 9:20am. On every Saturday at 1:25pm from Cox’s Bazar to Saidpur.
