Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two suspected drug peddlers with 720 grams of heroin in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district on Friday night.
The arrestees Yusuf Ali, 40, and Liton Mia, 35, are from Gidhnipara village of Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
According to a media release sent by the RAB-5 on Saturday morning, the elite force conducted a drive in the Chhaitantala area of the Patnitala upazila around 10:30 pm after being informed that a consignment of drugs would be smuggled by a tractor from Chapainawabaganj to Naogaon.
Later, the RAB members searched for drugs in a stationary tractor in the Chhaitantala area and recovered 720 grams of heroin from the vehicle, it reads.
Yusuf and Liton were arrested in connection with the recovery of the contraband heroin, the release said.
The arrestees were handed over to Patnitala police station for taking the next course of legal actions, according to the release.
