Police arrested three brothers in connection with the murder of a woman and her daughter in Bagerhat's Sharankhola upazila on Friday.
The arrestees are Monir Howlader, 45, Neharul Howlader,48 and Milon Howlader,40, sons of Abdus Samad Howlader of Paschim Rajapur village of the Upazila.
Police conducted a special drive on Friday night and arrested them, Bagerhat Superintendent of Police KM Ariful Haque said on Saturday.
Later, the arrestees were handed over to the court, he said.
"Efforts are on to arrest the other accused in the case," added the SP.
Earlier, A 38-year-old woman and her daughter were reportedly hacked to death by some miscreants in Bagerhat's Sharankhola upazila on Friday evening.
Papia Begum was the wife of Abu Zafar Hawladar, a resident of Uttar Rajapur village. Her daughter Sauda Jeni was 6 years old.
Later, a case was filed accusing seven people including Papia's husband at Sharankhola police station following a complaint lodged by her brother Al Amin Khalifa.
