Police in a drive held seven dacoits with an LG and a pipe gun from Begumganj upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The arrested were identified as Md Kamal, 43; Md Shamim, 22; Md Raihan, 28; Md Miraz, 22; Md Sharif, 27; Md Helaluddin, 21; and Md Salauddin, 26. They are the residents of Noakhali, Lakshmipur and Bhola districts.
Police said, on information, they conducted a raid in Lalpur area last night and held the dacoits with LG, pipe gun, ornaments and sharp weapons, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Thana Md Anowarul Islam said robbery and arms cases have been filed against them. The dacoits will be produced before a court on Friday afternoon, he added.
