The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) busted an illegal factory producing adulterated liquor in the capital on Thursday.
DNC also seized 21 litres of adulterated liquor in 23 bottles of foreign brands and 20 litres of ethanol along with other materials used for manufacturing adulterated liquor, after raiding a house in the Riazbagh area of Rampura, a press release said.
Three people, Kazi Ashrafuzzaman alias Mosharaf, 35, owner of the factory, and his associates — Md Abul Khayer Chowdhury, 69, and Md Haider Bhuiyan, 36 — were apprehended during the drive, the DNC said.
Besides, the narcotics control department seized 200g of crystal meth, also known as ice, and 1,000 yaba tablets in its drives at Khilkhet and Dhanmondi from Thursday night to Friday morning.
Three people were also detained during the raids.
