The Border Guard Bangladesh on a drive today arrested a smuggler with eight gold bars from Darshana frontier in the district. The detainee is Sultan Ahmed, 44, who hailed from Chandpur district, read a press release.
On the information, a team of the force conducted a raid in Carew and Company Ltd area in the morning and detained the smuggler with the gold bars.
A case was filed with Darshana police station.
