The CID of India has arrested a young man named Jihad Howladar (24) on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar, the Member of Parliament for the Jhenaidah-4 Constituency. Howladar, a Bangladeshi infiltrator and butcher by profession, had been living illegally in Mumbai.

Howladar hails from the Dighlia police station area in Khulna district, Bangladesh. His father is Zainal Howladar. In Mumbai, Jihad worked as a butcher in a meat shop, reports NDTV.

It is known that Jihad was summoned two months ago by Akhtaruzzaman, an American citizen of Bangladeshi origin and the main planner of this brutal murder. During interrogation, Jihad admitted that he and four others strangled Anar to death in a Kolkata flat on Akhtaruzzaman's orders.

Reports indicate that after killing the MP, the perpetrators meticulously dismembered his body to destroy his identity.

The flesh was minced and kept in plastic bags, while the bones were cut into small pieces. These bags were then transported and disposed of in different areas of Kolkata using various modes of transport.

The West Bengal Intelligence Police conducted extensive searches across Kolkata until midnight on Thursday in connection with Jihad Howladar.

The West Bengal Detective Police are actively working to solve the mystery of MP Anar's murder. Both the Intelligence Departments of Dhaka and Kolkata have uncovered details of how he was killed.

The primary focus now is to locate the body parts or the containers used to transport them. However, police believe it may be impossible to recover all the body parts due to the extensive dismemberment.

According to the police, the body was cut into pieces resembling mincemeat, making the recovery of all parts unlikely. Investigators are examining how the criminals executed their master plan and disposed of the body parts throughout Kolkata. Searches with Jihad were conducted on Thursday night but were limited by darkness.

Jihad is to be remanded to Barasat Court for further questioning and to verify his statements, as well as to aid in recovering the remaining body parts.

Anwarul Azim Anar’s murder has been confirmed, though his body has yet to be recovered. DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Investigation Branch) Mohammad Haroon Or Rasheed stated, "We hope that very soon the Indian police will be able to recover the body of the murdered Jhenaidah-4 Constituency Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar."

The West Bengal Police’s Criminal Investigation Department revealed that Anar was brought to India on 12 May.

The accused had stayed in Kolkata for at least 10 days before the murder, lodging at a hotel on Sadar Street near Dharmatala.

Hotel records show two individuals, Faisal and Mustafizur, staying there since May 2. Three individuals, including Mustafizur, have since been arrested.

Indian investigators believe the plan to kill Anar was formulated much earlier, which is why Faisal and Mustafizur arrived in Kolkata well in advance. They left the hotel once their task was completed.
