The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has detained five members of a gang, who were involved in making fake National Identity Cards (NIDs) and birth certificate registrations, from the Rohingya camp at Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
The detainees were identified as Md Abdullah, 37, Abul Khayer, 18, Md Talha, 60, his brother Md Harun, 36, all residents of Ukhiya camp-1, and Md Ismail, 45, of Teknaf upazila.
Confirming the matter, APBn-8 Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Kamran Hossain on Thursday said that acting on a tip-off they raided the house of Abdullah at Lombashia camp on Wednesday afternoon.
