Local police recovered three bullet-riddled bodies in Rowangchhari upazila of Bandarban on Monday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.
Confirming the matter to The Business Post, Abdul Mannan, officer-in-charge of Rawangchhari police station, said the bodies of three people, who were shot dead, have been recovered and are being sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Further details will be known after the autopsy, he added.
According to locals and police officials, local people informed the police about the dead bodies found lying on a hill in the Paikhyong Para area of Rowangchhari.
However, no information has been disclosed about the identities of the victims or those who killed them. But locals believe that they may have been killed in a shooting.
Panic has gripped the area since the bodies were found lying there. Security forces have also increased patrols in the area.
Earlier on April 7, police recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of eight members of the armed group Kukichin from the Khamtang Para area of Rowangchhari.
