Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-crime drive arrested two alleged drug-peddling youths with 515 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from a place in the metropolis last night.
The arrested suspects were identified as Sohel Rana, 33, son of late Abdul Kader, and Ehsanul Haque, 32, son of late Enamul Haque. Both are the residents of the city, RAB sources in Dhaka said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at the Fudkipara precinct under Shahmukhdum Police Station and nabbed them with the drugs around 9.30pm.
Another team of the elite force arrested another alleged drug peddler identified as Abu Hanif, 28, son of Sirajul Islam, with 100 grams of heroin from Tekpara under Godagari Police Station in the district around 8.30pm.
The record showed two separate cases with the respective police stations in these connections and the arrestees along with the seized goods were handed over to the police Thursday morning.
