Miscreants hacked a village policeman to death in the Kumri area of Narail's Lohagara upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Bakul Sheikh, 42, son of Badir Sheikh of Kumri village in the upazila.

Rakib Sheikh, son of the deceased, said that his father shared a feud with villagers Pagal and Aynal.

They both used to commit robbery and when they were arrested, they blamed his father for ratting them out to the police.

Around 7pm on Sunday, Ajmal, Aynal, Hussain Sheikh, Rubel, Mahmud, and Yamin stabbed his father indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, he levels.

Police visited the spot after the crime, said Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station.

Efforts are on to arrest the culprits, added the OC.
