The body of a local journalist was recovered from his office by police in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram on Saturday night.
The deceased, Sujan Mandal, was a correspondent of Bangla newspaper Daily Ittefaq.
Mujibur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirsarai police station, confirmed the matter to media saying the body was found hanging at the journalist's office around 10pm on Saturday.
OC Mujibur said the door to Sujan's office was locked since Saturday noon. His friends informed the police after not seeing him all day.
Police later broke into Sujan's office room at 10pm after not receiving any response from inside after repeated knocks at the door and found his body hanging from the ceiling.
The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
