Ctg mayor meets Indian bank official to discuss loans

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury met with Bangladesh representative of Indian Exim Bank Alok Bora on Friday to discuss a project regarding the installment of LED lights along the city roads.

Mayor Rezaul met the representative at his residence in Bahaddarhat of Chattogram, said a press release on Sunday.

Alok Bora met the mayor to inform him about the various aspects of the progress and finalisation regarding the project concerning the installation of LED lights along 466km of road in Chattogram. Project Director Jhulan Kumar Das was also present

Mayor Rezaul thanked the Indian Govt for loan assistance through the Indian Exim Bank for this project and said it would strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

While the project is estimated to cost more than Tk 260 crores, India would assist with a loan of more than Tk 214 crores. The rest of the project would be financed by Bangladesh Government. The project would facilitate the placement of 20,600 LED lights, said Alok Bora.
