Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor M Reazaul Karim Chowdhury today said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing many mega projects for the development of Chattogram.
“If these megaprojects are implemented, Chattogram will become the economic hub of South East Asia,” he made the comments while inspecting the construction work of roads, bridges and retaining walls adjacent to Maheshkhali at north Halishahar ward in the city.
Chowdhury said the Prime Minister has started construction of the bay terminal, tunnel through the Karnafuli river, deep seaport, inter-country highway and rail link with the concept of 'One City to Town' in Chattogram city.
Ward councillor Md Ilias, Professor Mohammad Ismail, CCC Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Superintendent Engineers Abu Saleh, Anwar Hossain, Executive Engineer Ashiqul Islam, JICA Senior Engineer Nasir Uddin and local political leaders, among others, accompanied the Mayor during the visit.
