Cyclone Amphan likely to cause heavy rainfall

A cyclonic storm is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal and make landfall in Myanmar within 3-4 days, causing hails and heavy rain in Bangladesh.

Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre suggests formation of depression over Andaman Sea by Thursday, which is likely turn into cyclonic storm - Amphan. 

Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said, "There can be more rain on Friday and a depression can form in the Andaman Sea between Friday and Saturday. It has all the symptoms to turn into a cyclonic storm."

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions in the next couple of days.
