Daily Covid deaths reach 43

Bangladesh on Tuesday recorded 43 deaths and another new 8,354 cases of Covid-19.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the last 24 hours, the country’s daily test positivity rate slightly declined at 20.03 per cent

The total death toll from the deadly virus in the country is now 28,670. The country last witnessed 43 deaths from the deadly virus on a single day was on September 19, 2021.

Bangladesh’s total number of positive cases now stands at 18,79,255 since the country first detected Covid patient on March 8, 2020.

On Monday, the positivity rate was at 21.07 per cent.

The daily case positivity rate reached its peak of 33.37 per cent on January 28 this year.

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 41,698 samples at 871 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,28,12,578 samples.

Meanwhile, 10,800 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 16,22,857.

Among the new deceased, 26 were men and 17 women.

Fifteen deaths were reported in the Dhaka division, eleven in Chattogram, thirteen in Khulna, two in Rajshahi, one each in Rangpur and Mymensingh.
