Bangladesh reported 88 deaths from Covid-19 in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Thursday, taking its tally to 11,393, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
Besides, 2,341 more people tested positive for the virus, taking the total number of infected patients to 756,955.
The death rate now stands at 1.51 per cent and the infection rate at 13.89 per cent.
In the meantime, 4,782 patients recovered from the virus during the same period taking the total number of recoveries to 677,101 with the recovery rate at 89.45 per cent.
Bangladesh registered 77 virus deaths on Wednesday and 78 on Tuesday.
The country is currently observing a nationwide lockdown which will continue till May 5 to tackle a second wave of the pandemic.
