Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner and Detective Branch Chief Harun Or Rashid said a certain quarter is helping ordinary students with money and weapons to carry out the anti-quota movement.
“We have compiled a list of names, and multiple teams of DB and DMP will conduct drives against them soon,” he told the media on Wednesday morning.
Harun added, “A group is supporting the anti-quota movement with money and weapons. The same group is again spreading rumors and trying to take the movement to a different direction.
“Those who are spreading rumors and helping with money have also conspired in the past.”
He continued, “We have the names of those who are using young students to take politics to another direction, and encouraging vandalisation in educational institutions across the country, arson, removing railway sleepers, disrupting the metro rail.
“An operation will be launched against these people soon.”
