DC conference 2023 begins Jan 24

The three-day annual conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) is set to begin on January 24 this year. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the event from her office at 10am that day.

As part of the conference, the DCs will participate in 26 programmes and sessions, according to a schedule circulated by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday. The DCs will also take part in an open discussion with the prime minister on the first day of the event.

This conference is an annual meeting between heads of the districts and government policymakers. The previous meeting was held in January 2022, but in 2020 and 2021 iterations of this event were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Besides, there will be a meeting with the officials of her office that day.

The working sessions will start the same day in the capital’s Osmani Memorial Auditorium following the inauguration programme. Participants will attend a dinner that night with the prime minister at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
