Bangladesh Film Archive (BFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dutch company RedOrange Media and Communications under the project to collect footage of War of Liberation from local and foreign sources.

Dr Md Mofakkharul Iqbal, Director of the Project titled “Collection and preservation of liberation war footage from home and abroad and strengthening Bangladesh Film Archives project” under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Rutger-Jan Schoen, Strategic Communication Advisor of RedOrange Media and Communications, signed the deal on Monday afternoon at the Bangladesh Embassy in The Hague.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and Bangladesh Ambassador to the Hague Riaz Hamidullah were present on the occasion.

The minister said collecting valuable footage from all over the world will enrich the history of the liberation war.

“After 1975, the history of our Liberation War has been distorted.  But they did not know that the history of Bangladesh's independence is preserved in various archives of the world. RedOrange is one of them.”

“The footage received from them will help preserve the true history of our Liberation War and the example of the struggle and sacrifice of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Bangladesh,” he said.

"Through this MoU, RedOrange will help Bangladesh film archives collect footage of the Liberation War from various institutional and private archives," said Rutger-Jan Schoen of Red Orange.
