The railway ministry is currently directionless due to the absence of its minister, leaving the resumption of suspended train services in limbo for the foreseeable future.
Director General of Bangladesh Railway Sardar Shahadat Ali has expressed uncertainty about resuming services, stating, “I cannot make the decision alone without a minister.
“I plan to discuss the matter with the railway secretary to potentially resume services on a limited basis, which was shut down for days amid curfews and protests.”
Railway Ministry Public Relations Officer Iftekhar Alam Rajon said the office was not operational on Tuesday for safety reasons and may resume regular work the next day if conditions improve.
