Bangladesh registered 103 new hospitalisations due to dengue, taking this year’s tally to 3,20,158, while no death was recorded in the 24 hours until 8am Friday.

The death toll from the mosquito-borne disease remained unchanged at 1,692, according to DGHS.

Of the new cases, 30 were in Dhaka and 73 outside the capital.

At present, some 1,193 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals around the country. Of them, 367 are in Dhaka and 826 are outside the capital.

The dengue outbreak has been significantly worse this year than in previous years.

September has so far been the deadliest month this year with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases, according to DGHS data.
