Professor Rehman Sobhan on Saturday said along with prioritising the sustainable development goals, development in the energy sector should also be ensured.
He made the remark while attending a two-day conference on "Energy, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development" at Stamford University’s Siddheswari campus in Dhaka as the chief guest.
“Sustainable development policies need to be implemented to tackle the effects of climate change. Works should be done keeping in mind the necessity of power plant construction,” he said.
“Our country is floating on natural gas. In the case of coal, natural gas and fuel, we have to keep in mind the socio-economic problems,” Rehman Sobhan added.
