Mayor of Charghat Pourasabha Ekramul Haque said, they implemented the project worth Tk 10.90 crores financed by the Financial Institutions Division of the government and Asian Development Bank (ADB).

"We have constructed 22-kilometer-long roads, 14 toilets, 47 solar lights and dumpsters at many of the road crossings for collecting wastes in 14 slum communities," he added.

Pourasabha Mayor Haque said the improved amenities are contributing a lot towards improving the socio-economic conditions of the beneficiaries earning their confidence.

Monsur Rahman, a resident of ward number 5, said they had to suffer a lot due to waterlogged roads caused by rainfall. But now, they are delighted to not have to face such problems anymore.
