State Minister of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Tuesday said that ICT in Bangladesh should enjoy extensive cooperation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The UNOPS delegation led by the Regional Director in Asia Sanjay Mathur has sought an audience with State Minister Palak at the ICT Tower in Agargaon, Dhaka and they have also taken part in a panel discussion at the conference room in Bangladesh High-tech Park.

UNOPS Country Manager Sudhir Muralitharan and Director of South Asian relations Charles were also present on the panel.

UNOPS have pledged extensive support and participation in the infrastructural growth  of Bangladesh, especially in ICT.

The delegates said Bangladesh made its mark in the global economy with grit and efficacy which is unmistakable. Besides, the vital strides that the government in Bangladesh has made in intrinsic sectors like education, health and telecom has been unprecedented.

They said wealth is hardly the important economic indicator for a country’s growth. Its skilled manpower, ingenuity, institutional integrity and resourceful intent that stands out instead. Bangladesh will not have to idolize other countries to look up to anymore in the future. It should be the other way around.

Managing Director of Bangladesh High-Tech Park Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Ranjit Kumar, Managing Director of Bangladesh Data Centre Company Limited Zohra Begum, Director Syed Zahurul Islam and Mohammad Tabibur Rahman of Bangladesh High-Tech Park, Managing Director Sami Ahmed and Innovation and Commercialization Specialist Mohammad Abdur Bari Pramukh of Startup Bangladesh Limited were also present in the juncture.
