A Bangladesh Air Force officer working at the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) has been killed in a gunfight with drug traffickers at Tambru border in Bandarban district.

The gunfight on Monday also left a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officer injured, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release in the early hours of Tuesday.

Without revealing the names of the victims, the ISPR said the gunfight broke out during a joint anti-drug operation by RAB and DGFI.
