Dhaka empty in the wake of mass Eid exodus

On the day before Eid-ul-Fitr, the capital that is usually bustling with crowds and chaos has emptied out, leaving the streets barren and devoid of pedestrians and commuters.

The number of vehicles has dwindled considerably. There were also few people seen out and about on Monday.

In the wake of a long holiday, hordes of people have left the city already. 

As the number of passengers dwindled, some bus companies have stopped their operations. A small number of people were still looking to leave the city on Monday.

However, the lack of transport left them desolate. Many of them were seen stranded with their family and luggage at Gabtoli bus terminal.

The deserted roads gave way to a smoother commute inside the city itself. People were able to go from one place to another without facing torturous traffic jams and congestion.
