Train operations between Khulna and other parts of the country resumed on Saturday morning, twelve hours after services halted on Friday night due to the derailment of a train in Gazipur, officials said on Saturday.
In-charge of Joydebpur Railway Junction Police outpost, Shahidul Islam, said that two bogies of Dhaka-bound Panchagah Express train veered off the tracks near Mouchak Rail Station in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur around 10:15pm, halting services.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

A relief train from Dhaka was sent to the spot, officials said. Rail communications were restored Saturday morning, Shahidul Islam said.
Two trains -- Kurigram-bound Kurigram Express and Dhaka-bound Jamalpur Express -- have been stranded at Joydebpur and Mirzapur rail stations, respectively, since the derailment.
