A fire that broke out at a commercial building in the Wari area of the capital early on Tuesday morning has been doused.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire began around 6:00am on the ground floor of a two-storey building at Kaptanbazar Ershad Market.
Four fire tenders were pressed into service and it took them half an hour to douse the flames, Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Assistant Director Shahjahan Shikder said.
A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire, he added.
