Monirul Islam, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and also the head of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, has been made the Additional Inspector General of Police (current charge) of the Special Branch.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette on Sunday in this regard.
On February 14, 2016, Monirul was promoted to DIG of Bangladesh Police.
